BIBLIOTECA BARTOLOMÉ CALVO

Calificación promedio de usuarios

The Library emerged as an initiative of Governor Haroldo Calvo Núñez. In 1979 there was already an interest from the Banco de la República to take over the old Departmental Library, for which the Bank took it on loan for 50 years starting in 1980. Since then, the Library has occupied the old Banco de Bolívar building, built in 1907 by the German architect Nicolás Samer. The new library was inaugurated on October 30, 1981 and its investment amounted to nearly ten million pesos. This year the Bank building celebrates 100 years of being built.
