Previously, this park was a square, where the bullfights of the city were held, and it was there that the people began their love of bullfighting.
On November 11, 1896 the Park was inaugurated where the equestrian statue of El Libertador Simón Bolívar was placed 4 years later, who today lives up to his name "Plaza de Bolívar".
