On December 13, 2003, the Art Museum was inaugurated, located in the building whose historical name is the Real Seminario Conciliar, being one of the three oldest buildings in the city of Santa Marta along with the Cathedral and the House of Customs. The current San Juan Nepomuceno Cloister houses this museum, today known as the San Juan Nepomuceno Cultural Center of the Universidad del Magdalena. The museum has been part of this restoration, the single visit becomes an interesting journey through the artistic and historical memory of our culture; we have a permanent collection, diverse works of contemporary art and the most representative photographers, painters and sculptors of the country in our rooms; Exhibitions of great importance are offered periodically, where attendees can have direct contact with the history of national and regional art.
